Anchor are constantly are the look out for new and innovative technology which allows us to provide real value to our customers. Traditional security systems are designed to detect the presence of unauthorised persons and/or vehicles where our technology goes far beyond this. We are able to provide solutions which assist in other applications such as Health & Safety, Visitor Management and the management of assets such as car parking.

Using our blended approach to technology we are able to leverage advanced features without our supported services which help our client realise further cost savings, often with a return of investment in less than 12 months. We are able to virtualise almost all elements of a traditional security officers responsibilities within the Anchor Operations Centre and with that comes economies of scale. Typically we see there can be a significant amount of downtime for security officers and our eGuarding solutions allows us to reactive respond with issues and requests. A perfect example of this is where a security officer is deployed on a site overnight for the purpose of conducting patrols and providing access to overnight drivers. The officer will typically patrol the site at regular intervals and respond to access request on an ad hoc basis. Our eGuarding solution allows us to provide all these services remotely and as these are only provided on demand, the client only pays for the services when they are required.

In many cases yes we can entirely replace the on-site security presence or at the very least our eGuarding solution can compliment and help reduce on site guarding requirements.

There are significant benefits with cloud based solutions which is why most technology providers are now taking this approach but within the security industry and outside. The main benefits with cloud solutions include:

• Lower cost of ownership. With subscription based services you typically pay for what you need rather, when you need it.
• Physical Data Security. Your data is stored in secure data centres located off site, usually replicated across two or more data centres. In the event of a major incident such as a fire, your data remains unaffected and accessible. Traditional systems can irreversibly lose data is such scenarios.
• Cyber data security. As the data is housed in secure data centres, cyber security is something that is taken extremely seriously and you can be sure that your data is secured with the latest and most robust security measures. Additionally, most Cloud solutions automatically take care of important updates such as firmware and security patching. In our experience, the updating of device firmware locally on site with traditional systems is one of the most overlooked aspects of maintaining a system.
• Scalability. Systems that are hosted with data centres are far more easily scalable that traditional physical system installations. Increasing storage is typically a simple click of a button where a physical installation would typically involve adding additional physical storage on site with additional installation costs.
• Future Proofing. The functions and features of many cloud based security solutions are delivered by software and technology in the cloud rather than at site or on the Edge. Historically, to take advantage of the latest features of a system you would either have to update firmware locally or potentially replace hardware, adding additional cost. Cloud based solutions often allow the latest features to be available on all systems as they are released.
• Functionality. As most features within Cloud based solutions are performed with a data centre this means that there are far more substantial resources available to support much more complex features. As features are released that are more complex it is far easier within a cloud based solution to increase the resources with the data centre to adequately support this added complexity.

In most cases yes. Typically when upgrading from a traditional on prem solution we are able to reuse the majority of the door furniture whilst upgrading the door controllers. Where existing door furniture is used, this may limit the functionality that is available but it allows us plan and agree and upgrade program with our customers over a period of time in order to more closely manage budgets.

Biometric access solutions significantly enhance security as they rely on physical characteristics of individuals that connect easily be replicated such as retinal scans, fingerprints and facial recognition. Where biometric solutions are deployed you can have an extremely high level of confidence that access is not granted unless the authorised person is actually present.
