Our History

Established 1987

Anchor was established by Andrew Harper, Chief Executive, in 1987. A former Merseyside police officer, he started his own private security service where he lived on the Wirral. Since then Anchor Group Services has grown to become a respected provider within the Facilities Management sector.

Company founded
Andrew Harper left his job with Merseyside Police and started his own business with a mobile phone, a dog and a van.
2000
NSI Gold Approval Attained
One of the first security providers to be awarded the prestigious NSI Gold accreditation
2003
Cleaning Division Launched
Reacting to customer demand, it was time to diversify. Anchor Cleaning Services is launched, paving the way to a joined up Facilities Management offering.
2007
Parking Division Launched
Anchor’s Parking division is launched and, mirroring the Group’s focus on quality, Ocean Parking soon becomes the UK’s fastest growing Car Park Management company.
2020
Tech Services Division Launched
Maximising the technical capacity of the Anchor Operations Centre, CCTV monitoring, installation and maintenance and a host of other 24 hour support services were developed.

Consultancy Division Launched
Expert advice to asset owners on security systems and processes, business continuity, risk management and threat analysis, delivered globally by subject matter experts.
