The council is a collective of ACS accredited private security firms working throughout the Merseyside area, with a mission to enhance the city’s safety in collaboration with clients, emergency services, local authorities, and other vital stakeholders.
In the UK, there are now approximately three security officers for every police officer, covering nearly all sectors. Currently, the nations threat of terrorism remains at ‘Substantial’ as well as continued challenges in the community from persistent retail crime, and anti-social behaviour. The Liverpool City Security Council plays a pivotal role in coordinating these extensive security resources to aid in incident management, and safety and security initiatives, all aimed at fostering a more secure environment within the city.
“I’m delighted to have been asked to join the board of the Liverpool City Security Council. Throughout my 40-year career in security and after having begun my career as a security officer I have seen first-hand the outstanding work that security officers do on a daily basis and the important role they can play in working in partnership with our emergency services. I look forward to supporting other board members and key stakeholders across the Liverpool region.”
