Case Study

Trade Centre Group eGuarding Solution

Anchor Group Services was the chosen security service provide for the Trade Centre Group across several of their sites based in England. By deploying our remotely eGuarding solutions across their estate we were able to help TCUK reduce their annual spend on Security with Anchor by more than 60% whilst increasing the number of locations Anchor supports by 100%. In addition, our solutions were able to provide security cover at a vacant property where no power or communications were available, that was subject to crime and anti-social behaviour.

Prior to the deployment of our eGuarding solutions, TCUK’s annual spend with Anchor Group Services was in excess of £400,000 for the provision of static guarding at their locations in England. We assisted TCUK with a blend of static guarding and remote eGuarding solutions across all their locations in England and Wales and by adopting this bended approach we have reduced their annual spend to circa £135,000 with Anchor Group Services. Additionally, TCUK was able to realise further savings where we have taken a blended approach across other locations where security guarding was provided by a third party.

By investing in technology we have implemented remote system maintenance solutions which constantly reviews the health of their security systems, generating email alerts where issues are detected and by providing both the client and our control real time access to a graphical display to show the health of their systems. This is supplemented by weekly reporting highlighting any specific issues that may exist whilst also ensuring that data is only kept in line with their data retention policies.

The Problem

The client first approached us to discuss our eGuarding solution back in August 2023 as they were having issues with crime and anti-social behaviour at vacant plot of land they owned. This was the site of a former showroom that had been demolished and was awaiting being sold. The land also houses an electrical sub-station which serves other local businesses and the client was concerned that this could be damaged, causing issues for the local businesses. TCUK approached Anchor as a trusted security partner to offers possible solutions, the main challenge being the lack of power and communications at the property.

Anchor deployed a fully battery powered 4G solution and within weeks we successfully detected anti-social behaviour, deploying our local security team to site to prevent any damaged. Evidential images were captured and passed to the police. Since being deployed additional equipment has been deployed at the site to provide event better coverage.

The success of this solution lead to wider conversations with TCUK as to how we could utilise a blend of static guarding and remote security solutions across their wider estate to realise annual savings on their security spend. At some locations TCUK already had an incumbent provider of remote security solutions but it was unclear as to how effective the existing provision was.

Anchor carried out both local and remote audits of their existing systems and were able to provide recommendations to enhance their existing solutions whilst keeping spend to a minimum. For example, we recommended the use of longer range thermal cameras in place of traditional CCTV where multiple cameras would have normally been required to cover the areas required. Although the cost of the thermal cameras was significantly more than a standard camera, this approach saved £000’s in infrastructure costs deploying network and power across their showrooms.

Our audits also highlighted a number of existing faults with equipment and limitations with some older equipment that was installed. All these issues were addressed as part of the onboarding process and over a period of a few months we implemented our eGuarding solution across 8 locations in England and Wales.
