The hugely popular Dragon Boat Race at Princes Dock, Liverpool is back for 2023, and Anchor Group Services are proud to offer our support yet again as headline sponsors.
The event, organised by Peel L&P, is to take place on Thursday 7th September and will see teams from businesses across the Liverpool region battle it out in a day of friendly competition on the water, with crews of between 7 and 13 people competing in up to 5 timed races of around 200m each in the famous canoe-like vessels, decorated with ornately carved dragon heads and tails.
As well as supporting the annual event, with headline sponsorship, members of the Anchor team will also be present on the day with our own team taking part in the race and a dedicated stand at Princes Dock with information and giveaways including an iPad - so make sure you stop by to see us!
We’re taking it very seriously this year and look forward to testing not only our teamwork skills, but also the results of our two gruelling training sessions on the 15th and 18th of August at the Boat Club, Queen Dock - the other teams better watch out!
All teams must raise a minimum of £850 to participate with all proceeds going to Claire House’s newest site in West Derby, close to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. Claire House help seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by providing experiences and a sense of normality to family life.
